Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the cooling fan.
2. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor connector (1).
3. Remove the cooling fan pulley (2).
4. Remove the CMP sensor retaining bolt.
5. Remove the CMP sensor.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the CMP sensor.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the CMP sensor retaining bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the CMP sensor retaining bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
3. Install the cooling fan pulley (2).
4. Reconnect the CMP sensor connector (1).
5. Install the cooling fan and shroud.
