Radiator Cooling Fan Temperature Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement 

Removal Procedure 

1. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.
2. If equipped with the 8.1 L engine, remove the sensor connector from the bracket.
3. If equipped with the 8.1 L engine, remove the ECT sensor.

4. If equipped with the 6.5 L engine, remove the ECT sensor.

Installation Procedure 

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. If equipped with the 6.5 L engine, install the ECT sensor.

Tighten the ECT sensor to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
