Heat Shield: Service and Repair

Exhaust Heat Shield Replacement Dash Panel 
Removal Procedure 

1. Remove the catalytic converter. 

2. Remove the right manifold heat shield (1) bolts, if necessary.
3. Remove the right manifold heat shield, if necessary.
4. Remove the left manifold heat shield (2) bolts, if necessary.
5. Remove the left manifold heat shield, if necessary.

Installation Procedure 

1. Install the left manifold heat shield, if necessary.

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the left manifold heat shield (2) bolts, if necessary.

Tighten the manifold heat shield bolts to 1.8 Nm (16 inch lbs.). 

3. Install the right manifold heat shield, if necessary.
4. Install the right manifold heat shield (1) bolts, if necessary.
5. Install the catalytic converter.
