Exhaust Pipe Gasket: Service and Repair
Exhaust Seal Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle with safety stands. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the catalytic converter nuts.
3. Allow the catalytic converter to hang.
4. Remove and discard the exhaust manifold seal(s).
Installation Procedure
1. Install a NEW exhaust manifold seal(s).
2. Raise the catalytic converter into position.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the catalytic converter nuts.
Tighten the catalytic converter nuts to 64 Nm (47 ft. lbs.).
4. Lower the vehicle.
