Outer Tie Rod

Tie Rod Replacement-Outer

J24319-B Universal Steering Linkage Puller

Removal Procedure 

1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle with suitable safety stands.
2. Remove the tire and wheel. 
3. Remove the cotter pin from the outer tie rod end.

4. Remove the nut (3) from the outer tie rod end.
5. Loosen the nut on the tie rod end sleeve.

6. Using the J24319-B, remove Me outer tie rod end from the tie rod amp assembly.
7. Remove the outer tie rod from the tie rod sleeve.
8. Inspect the following parts:

8.1.

The tie rod end for damage

8.2.

The tie rod end seals for excessive wear

8.3.

The ball stud threads for damage

8.4.

The adjuster tubes for bending or damaged threads

8.5.

Clean the tapered surfaces

Installation Procedure
