Camshaft: Service and Repair

Camshaft Replacement 

Removal Procedure

1. Raise the hood to the servicing position, perform the following:

Remove the hood hinge bolts (1).

^

Raise the hood until vertical.

^

Install the hood hinge bolts until snug in the service position (2).

2. Remove the radiator support. 
3. Remove the timing chain and camshaft sprocket. 
4. Remove the valve lifters from both cylinder heads.

5. Remove the camshaft sensor bolt and sensor.
