Temperature Gauge: Testing and Inspection
Test F: Coolant Temperature Gage Accuracy Test
TEST F: COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAGE ACCURACY TEST
Disconnect Coolant Temperature Sender connector. Connect one red lead of a J 33431-B Signal Generator and instrument Panel Tester to terminal A,
DK GRN (35) wire (harness side), and connect the other lead to ground. Turn ignition Switch to RUN. Set the resistance dial of the tester to 1365 ohms,
697 ohms and then to 55 ohms. The Coolant Temperature Gage should indicate "100," "220" and then "260."
^ If the Coolant Temperature Gage responds correctly, replace the Coolant Temperature Sender.
^ If the Coolant Temperature Gage does not respond correctly, check DK GRN (35) wire, BLK (150) wire and instrument Cluster Printed Circuit for
high resistance. Repair/replace the Coolant Temperature Gage if the wires and Printed Circuit are good
