Subject: Loose/Missing Rear Window Lower Seal (Install New Seal)
Models:
2010 Chevrolet Camaro
Condition
Some customers may comment that the seal at the lower edge of the rear window glass is loose or has fallen off.
Cause
This condition may be caused by adhesive on the original seal attachment that did not fully bond to the window glass.
Correction
Use the following steps to install a new rear window lower seal:
1. Remove the old seal, if applicable.
2. Remove any existing adhesive residue from the glass using a general purpose adhesive cleaner.
3. Wipe the application area of the glass surface with isopropyl alcohol.
4. Dry fit the seal, positioning it on the glass in the mounting location. Center the seal on the glass, ensuring the end gap to the window opening is
equal on the left and right sides. Use masking tape to mark this location.
5. Position the seal on the glass.
Note
When removing protective liners from adhesive tape, be careful not to touch tape with your hands and do not allow the tape to come in contact
with dirt or any foreign matter prior to adhesion.
6. Peel the tape liner and apply the window seal along the lower edge of the rear window glass.
7. Using hand pressure, apply even, medium pressure along the molding from side to side to ensure complete adhesion is made to the rear window
glass.
