THERMAC AIR CLEANER FUNCTIONAL CHECK

1.

Remove the air cleaner housing and allow the assembly to cool below 40~F (4~C). The damper door should be closed to outside air (cool air) at
this temperature.

Check for the presence and condition of air cleaner to throttle body gasket seal.

3.

Reinstall the air cleaner housing, and be sure that the heat stove is connected to the air cleaner snorkel and exhaust manifold.

4.

Start the engine, and watch the damper door in air cleaner snorkel. As the air cleaner (wax pellet) warms up, the damper door should open slowly
to outside air.

5.

If the air cleaner actuator fails to operate as previously described, be sure that the calibrated spring is installed properly and the damper door is not
binding.
