Fuel Tank Draining Procedure
WARNING: Never drain or store fuel in an open container due to the possibility of fire or explosion.
CAUTION: If a vehicle is to be stored for any appreciable length of time, the fuel should be drained from the complete system, including injector
nozzle(s), fuel pump, all fuel pipes and the fuel tank in order to prevent gum formations and resultant improper engine performance.
1. Remove the negative cable from the battery and have a Class B fire extinguisher near the work area.
2. Use a hand-operated pump device to drain as much fuel through the filler tube as possible.
