Some 1982 Chevettes may experience hot tip-in hesitation. If this condition is encountered, the following changes are recommended:
(1)
On vehicles with manual transmission (MYl) and Federal (HAS) or altitude emissions (NA6), set initial timing at 8~ BTDC. In addition, install
new PROM, P/N 1226080.
(2)
On vehicles with automatic transmission (MXl) and
Federal (NA5) or altitude emissions (NA6), set initial timing at 8~ BTDC.
(3)
On vehicles with automatic transmission (MXl) and
California emissions (NB2), set initial timing at 8~ BTDC.
(4)
On vehicles with manual transmission (MYl) and California emissions (NB2), set initial timing at 4~ BTDC.
Use applicable labor operation.
