Generator (alternator) belt damage on the above models may be due to the belt contacting a bolt head on the power steering pump bracket.
Bracketry Installation
If this condition is encountered, inspect the bracketry installation. Vehicles equipped with air conditioning should have the flat washer under the
adjustment bolt head removed (see illustration).
In addition, a new belt is being released for replacement. The new belt, P/N 10034798, will not be available for approximately sixty (60) days. Until this
belt is available, P/N 10029075, which is the current Fiero belt, should be used.
Replacement belts should be tensioned to 650 N-m (145 lbs.).
