Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the underhood junction block.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
4. Remove the CMP sensor studs.
5. Remove the CMP sensor.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Rotate the crankshaft until number 4 piston is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke. Refer to the crankshaft damper-to-front-cover
timing marks.
2. Install the NEW camshaft position sensor housing seal.
