Use the following procedures to diagnose and repair the above listed conditions.
Front Fender Noise
Use the following steps to inspect and repair the front fender.
1. Road test the vehicle and verify that the noise is a rattle from the upper rear fender area.
2. If the rattle is coming from that area, remove the fasteners from the upper rear area of the fender as required to allow access to the inside of the
upper rear fender. Refer to Front Fender Replacement in SI.
It is not necessary to remove the complete fender. Use care to prevent bending or kinking of the fender.
3. Inspect the inner upper fender area shown and verify that the sealing patch is installed and in the position shown.
4. If the patch is out of position or missing, install a new sealing patch, GM P/N 25861684. Clean the mounting surface with a general purpose
adhesive cleaner before installing the new seal.
5. Reinstall the fender fasteners and align the fender to ensure that the sealing patch is making contact with the lower A pillar sheet metal surface.
Tighten the fasteners. Refer to Front Fender Replacement in SI
6. Repeat the procedure on the other side of the vehicle if required.
