THIS BULLETIN IS BEING REVISED TO ADD 2006 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES. PLEASE DISCARD SPECIAL COVERAGE BULLETIN
NUMBER 07123, DATED AUGUST 2007.
Condition
Some customers of 2004-06 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize pick-up trucks, equipped with either a 2.8L (RPO LK5) 4 cylinder or 3.5L
(RPO L52) 5 cylinder engine, may experience a condition where the engine intake valve seats may wear, such that combustion leakage occurs. This will
cause partial misfire and illumination of the Service Engine Soon (SES) light. Continued operation and resulting additional wear may eventually lead to
engine idle roughness.
Special Coverage Adjustment
This special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 7 years or 100,000 miles (160,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date
the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of
ownership. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.
For vehicles covered by Vehicle Service Contracts, all eligible claims with repair orders on or after August 8, 2007 (2004-05 model year); November 13,
2008 (2006 model year) are covered by this special coverage and must be submitted using the labor operation codes provided with this bulletin. Claims
with repair orders prior to August 8, 2007 (2004-05 model year); November 13, 2008 (2006 model year) must be submitted to the Service Contract
provider.

Parts required to complete this special coverage are to be obtained from General Motors Service and Parts Operations (GMSPO). Refer to the latest
version of Technical Service Bulletin 06-06-01-017 to obtain the correct part numbers.
Customer Notification
General Motors will notify customers of this special coverage on their vehicles (see copy of typical customer letter shown in this bulletin - actual
divisional letter may vary slightly).
