Corvette V8-350 5.7L VIN P SFI (1996)
4. Remove bolts and nuts attaching stabilizer shaft links to lower control arms.
5. On models with selective ride control and real time damping, disconnect electrical connector and detach sensor cable from bracket.
6. On all models, disconnect wheel speed sensor electrical connector and sensor cable from bracket.
7. Remove both spring protectors, Fig. 12.
8. Install spring compressor tool No. J-33432, or equivalent, Fig. 13.
9. Disconnect lower ball joints from steering knuckles.
10. Compress spring by rotating turnbuckle on spring compressor.
11. Remove bolts securing shock brackets to lower control arms and spring mounting bolts.
12. Release tension on spring compressor and remove compressor.
13. Remove spring and retainer shims, if equipped. Note number of shims removed.
14. Reverse procedure to install. Prior to installation, lubricate spring pads with a suitable rubber lubricant. If equipped, install spring retainer shims.
The number of spring retaining shims can be determined by the color code located on the spring. If color code is blue, no shims are required;
yellow or white, 1 shim; green, 2 shims. Tighten spring mounting bolts to specifications, with vehicle on ground.
