TECHNICAL
Subject:
Convertible Top Tonneau Cover Will Not Latch, "Tonneau Ajar" Message in Driver Information Center (DIC) (Reprogram Folding Top Module
[FTM])
Models:
2005 Chevrolet Corvette
With Power Folding Convertible Top (RPO CM7)
Built Prior to VIN Breakpoint 55115830
Condition
Some customers may comment that when lowering the convertible top, the tonneau cover does not close all the way. A "TONNEAU AJAR" message
may appear on the Driver Information Center (DIC).
Cause
The power pull-down actuator striker begins to cycle before the tonneau latch is fully engaged; therefore no pull-down occurs.
Correction
Inspect to make sure that the pull-down actuator is properly aligned in the center of the tonneau latch. If the actuator is off to the right (passenger
side), it will also cause the same condition. Adjust the pull-down actuator to the center or slightly left of center.
If adjusting the pull-down actuator does not correct the condition, then recalibrate the folding top module (FTM) with an updated software
calibration using the Tech 2(R) following the procedure below.
Important:
^
The Tech 2(R) must contain software version 24.005 or later.
1.
Install the Tech 2(R) to the vehicle and power on.
2.
Select "F0 Diagnostic" from the menu.
3.
Build the vehicle from the menu options.
4.
Select "F0 Vehicle Control Systems" from the menu.
5.
Select "Computer/Integrating Systems".
6.
Select "Module Setup" from the menu.
7.
Select "Folding Top Module" from the menu.
8.
Select "Recalibration" from the menu. The FTM calibration ID should change from 9 to 10. This can be verified through Module ID Information.
