Timing Chain Tensioner: Service and Repair
Timing Chain Tensioner Replacement
Special Tools
EN-955-1 - Fixing Pin from EN-955 - Kit
For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (See: Tools and Equipment).
Removal Procedure
1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the engine front cover with oil pump. Refer to Engine Front Cover with Oil Pump Replacement (See: Timing Cover/Service and Repair).
Note: Removal of timing chain is necessary to get access to the engine front cover gasket.
3. Remove the camshaft timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement (See: Timing Chain/Service and Repair).
4. Remove the EN-955-1 - pin (1) from timing chain tensioner.
5. Remove the 2 timing chain tensioner bolts (2).
6. Remove the timing chain tensioner (3).
