ADAPTER, REPLACE

1. Remove injection pump. Refer to "Injection Pump, Replace."
2. Remove bolts securing adapter into engine block, Fig. 70, then remove adapter.
3. Install replacement adapter in engine block and install bolts. Do not tighten.
4. Refer to "Adapter Seal, Replace" steps 4 through 8, for remaining procedure.

MARKING INJECTION PUMP ADAPTER

1. Using a suitable file, remove original timing mark from adapter. Do not remove timing mark from injection pump.
2. With cylinder No. 1 approaching TDC, align timing mark on balancer with zero mark on indicator. The injection pump driven gear should be
