Wheel Fastener: Service and Repair
Front Suspension

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Tools Required:

J 9746-02 Wheel Stud Remover

1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle with safety stands.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. 

NOTICE:  Support the caliper with a piece of wire to prevent damage to the brake line.

3. Remove the front brake caliper. 
4. Remove the hub/rotor. 
5. Remove the wheel stud using a press.

Support the hub/rotor using the J 9746-02. and the press bars.

^

Do not damage the wheel mounting surface on the hub/rotor flange.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE    

1. Install the wheel hub stud into the hub/rotor.

1.1. Place four washers and a nut on the stud.
1.2. Tighten until the stud is fully seated in the hub/rotor.

2. Install the hub/rotor. 
3. Install the tire and wheel assembly. 
4. Remove the safety stands.
5. Lower the vehicle.
