Express 1/2 Ton Van V8-5.7L VIN R (1999)
4. Measure the D height by measuring the distance between the rear axle and the jounce bumper (without Auxiliary Springs only).
5. Measure the D height by measuring the distance between the rear axle and the frame (with auxiliary springs only).
6. Push the front bumper downward to 38 mm (1.5 inches).
7. Release the front bumper. Let the vehicle settle into position
8. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 two more times.
Allow the vehicle to settle.
9. Measure the D height by measuring the distance between the rear axle pad and the frame.
10. Average the two D height measurements in order to determine the true D height measurement. Refer to Trim Height Specifications (Rear).
The rear suspension trim height should not exceed 13 mm (0.5 inches) from side to side.
11. If these measurements are out of specifications. inspect for the following conditions:

Sagging rear leaf springs. Refer to Leaf Spring Replacement.

Sagging front suspension. Refer to Front Coil Springs Replacement.

Worn rear suspension components, such as leaf spring bushings. Refer to Spring Bushing Replacement

Improper tire inflation.
-
Improper weight distribution.
-
Collision damage.
