Removal Procedure
1. Remove the thermostat bypass pipe. Refer to Thermostat Bypass Pipe Replacement (See: Cooling System/Coolant Line/Hose/Service and

2. Remove the turbocharger coolant hoses/pipes - outlet. Refer to Turbocharger Coolant Hoses/Pipes Replacement (Feed-LMM) (See: Cooling
System/Turbocharger Coolant Line/Service and Repair/Turbocharger Coolant Hoses/Pipes Replacement (Feed)) Turbocharger Coolant

3. Remove the upper oil pan. Refer to Upper Oil Pan Replacement (See: Engine Lubrication/Oil Pan/Service and Repair/Upper Oil Pan
Replacement).
4. Remove the cooling fan pulley. Refer to Fan Pulley Removal (See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/14. Fan Pulley Removal/VIN 6).
5. Remove the water pump. Water Pump Replacement (LGH,LMM) (See: Water Pump/Service and Repair/Water Pump Replacement).
6. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Removal (See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/3. Crankshaft Balancer Removal)
7. Remove the engine oil fill tube bolts.
8. Remove the engine oil fill tube.
9. Remove the crankshaft position sensor bolt.
10. Remove the crankshaft position sensor.
