Express 2500 V8-6.6L DSL Turbo (2010)
10. Remove the flywheel bolts (1), washer (2), flexplate (3) and flywheel (4).
11. Remove the 17 flywheel housing bolts (1) and separate the flywheel housing from the cylinder block using the J-37228 - cutter.
12. Remove the rear main seal. Refer to Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Removal (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and
Repair/Overhaul/5. Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Removal).
13. Clean and inspect the engine flywheel housing. Refer to Engine Flywheel Cleaning and Inspection (See: Engine, Cooling and
Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Overhaul/52. Engine Flywheel Cleaning and Inspection).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the rear main seal. Refer to Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Installation (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and
Repair/Overhaul/127. Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Installation).
2. Install NEW gaskets to the flywheel housing for the turbocharger oil return pipe and oil cooler adapter.
3. Apply a 2-3 mm (1/8 in) wide by 0.5-1.5 mm (1/16 in) high bead of sealant GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148) to the engine block
mating surface.
4. Install the flywheel housing to the cylinder block.
