Outside Handle Replacement - Sliding Door

Door Handle Replacement - Outside Sliding

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the sliding door lower trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Sliding Door  (See: Sliding Door Interior Trim Panel/Service and

Repair) .

2. Remove the sliding side door control assembly. Refer to Door Control Replacement.
3. Remove the lock rods from the lock.
4. Remove the nuts and the bracket that retain the outside door handle to the sliding side door.
5. Remove the sliding side door outside handle from the door.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the sliding side door outside handle to the door.

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice  in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the nuts and the bracket in order to retain the outside door handle to the sliding side door.

Tighten the retaining nuts to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

3. Install the lock rods to the lock.
4. Install the sliding side door control assembly. Refer to Door Control Replacement.
5. Install the sliding side door lower trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Sliding Door  (See: Sliding Door Interior Trim Panel/Service and

Repair) .
