Sliding Door Outside Handle Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the sliding door lower trim panel. Refer to Sliding Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement   (See: Sliding Door Interior Trim

Panel/Service and Repair).

2. Remove the sliding side door control assembly. Refer to Door Control Replacement   (See: Rear Door/Rear Door Handle/Rear Door Interior

Handle/Service and Repair/Door Control Replacement).

3. Remove the lock rods from the lock.
4. Remove the nuts and the bracket that retain the outside door handle to the sliding side door.
5. Remove the sliding side door outside handle from the door.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the sliding side door outside handle to the door.

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Caution   (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).

2. Install the nuts and the bracket in order to retain the outside door handle to the sliding side door and tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb in).
3. Install the lock rods to the lock.
4. Install the sliding side door control assembly. Refer to Door Control Replacement   (See: Rear Door/Rear Door Handle/Rear Door Interior

Handle/Service and Repair/Door Control Replacement).

5. Install the sliding side door lower trim panel. Refer to Sliding Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement   (See: Sliding Door Interior Trim

Panel/Service and Repair).
