Windshield Defroster Duct Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement   (See: Body and Frame/Access Cover/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the I/P carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement   (See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument

Panel/Service and Repair/Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement).

3. Remove the windshield defrost duct retaining screws at the heater case.
4. Remove the windshield defrost duct retaining nuts at the cowl.
5. Remove the windshield defrost duct (5) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the windshield defrost duct (5) to the vehicle.

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Caution   (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).

2. Install the windshield defrost duct retaining nuts to the cowl and tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb in).
3. Install the windshield defrost duct retaining screws to the heater case and tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb in).
4. Install the I/P carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement   (See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument

Panel/Service and Repair/Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement).

5. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement   (See: Body and Frame/Access Cover/Service and Repair).
