Fan Clutch: Service and Repair
FAN CLUTCH
REMOVAL
1. The air cleaner from the vehicle.
2. The coolant reservoir.
3. The upper radiator shroud.
4. Remove the fan hub nut from the water pump in a counterclockwise rotation using the J 41240 fan clutch wrench.
5. The fan and clutch from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. The fan and clutch to the vehicle.
2. The fan and clutch retaining bolt/nuts to the coolant pump pulley.

Tighten the fan and clutch retaining bolt/nuts to the following to 57 Nm (42 ft. lbs.).
-7.4L and 6.5L Diesel to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
3. The upper radiator shroud.
4. The coolant reservoir.
5. The air cleaner from the vehicle.
