Wheel Fastener: Service and Repair

Tool Required:

J 9746-02 Hub and Rotor Support

-

Or Equivalent

Remove or Disconnect 

1. Raise the vehicle and support it with suitable safety stands.
2. The tire and wheel. 
3. The front brake caliper. Refer to Brakes and Traction Control.

Support the caliper with a piece of wire to prevent damage to the brake hose.

4. The hub and rotor. Refer to "Hub, Bearing and Seal."
5. The wheel hub bolts with a press.

Support the hub and rotor using J 9746-02 and the press bars.

-

Do not damage the wheel mounting surface on the hub/rotor flange.

Install or Connect

1. The wheel hub bolts into the hub and rotor.

Place four washers and a nut on the bolt, and tighten until the bolt is fully seated in the hub/rotor.

2. The hub and rotor.
3. The front brake caliper.
4. The tire and wheel. 
5. Remove the safety stands.
6. Lower the vehicle.
