Brake Master Cylinder: Service and Repair
Replacement (with ABS)
Above 7300 GVW
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. The brake pipes from the brake master cylinder.

Cover the ends of the pipes to prevent dirt from entering the system.
3. The retaining nuts from the brake master cylinder and the brake booster.
4. The brake master cylinder from the power brake booster.
NOTE: Prior to installation, bench bleed the master cylinder. See: Bench Bleeding (with ABS)
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. The brake master cylinder to the power brake booster.
NOTE: Prior to installation, bench bleed the master cylinder. See: Bench Bleeding (with ABS)
2. The retaining nuts to the brake master cylinder and the brake booster.

Tighten the brake master cylinder retaining nuts to 36 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
3. The brake pipes to the brake master cylinder.

Tighten the brake pipes to the brake master cylinder to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
4. Bleed the brake system. See: Service and Repair
5. Release the parking brake.
