1. Lubricate a new O-ring with transmission fluid. Refer to Lubrication Specifications   (See: Maintenance/Fluids/Fluid - M/T/Specifications/Fluid

Type Specifications).

2. Install the new O-ring.

3. Install the VSS assembly.

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Caution   (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).

4. Install the VSS retainer bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 9 Nm (80 lb in).

5. Connect the VSS connector to the VSS (2).
6. Install the left front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation   (See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair).
