Power Steering Assist Motor Replacement (Without SS)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement   (See: Steering Column/Service and Repair/Steering Column Replacement).
2. Remove the tie strap from the power steering assist motor.
3. Disconnect the power steering assist motor electrical connector.

Note:  Place cloth around the reduction unit before tightening the vice and do not tighten the vice excessively.

4. Secure the steering column in a vice with the reduction unit flange horizontal to the vice.

5. Remove the power steering assist motor bolts (1).
6. Remove the power steering assist motor (2).
