The power steering pump is a vane-type pump which provides hydraulic pressure for the system. The power steering system consists of the following

The opening at the rear of the pump housing contains the following components:

The end plate The small opening on the side of the housing contains the following components:

The pressure line fitting

The flow control valve

The spring
The flow control orifice is a component of the pressure line fitting. A pressure relief valve inside the flow control valve limits the pump pressure.
