CHEVROLET, MALIBU & MONTE CARLO

1.

Support vehicle at frame and rear axle.

2.

Disconnect shock absorbers at lower mountings.

3.

Disconnect upper control arms from axle housing.

4.

If equipped with a stabilizer bar, disconnect bar from either right or lefthand side of control arm.

5.

On all models, remove brake hose support bolt and support without disconnecting the brake lines.

6.

Lower axle until it reaches end of its travel and using a suitable tool, pry lower pigtail over retainer on axle bracket. Remove spring and insulator.

7.

Reverse procedure to install. Springs must be installed with an insulator between upper seat and spring and positioned properly, Fig. 5.
