PRODUCT CAMPAIGN 82C30 INCORRECT SPEEDOMETER DRIVEN GEAR 1982 K20 LIGHT DUTY CHEVROLET TRUCKS
TO ALL INVOLVED CHEVROLET DEALERS
General Motors has determined that some 1982 K20 Chevrolet Light Duty Trucks equipped with RPO LH6 (diesel engine), MM7
(4-speed overdrive manual transmission) and GT4 (3.73 ratio) rear axle were assembled with the incorrect drivedriven gear and sleeve
assembly.
The incorrect speedometer driven gear will result in the speedometer indicating a vehicle speed which is approximately 20% slower than
the actual vehicle speed. For example, when the actual vehicle speed is 50 mph, the speedometer will indicate approximately 40 mph.
To correct this condition, the speedometer driven gear and sleeve assemblies will be replaced in all involved vehicles.
