Camshaft Oil Seal: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the engine flywheel. Refer to Engine Replacement.
2. Remove the camshaft rear bearing hole plug.
Installation Procedure
1. Coat the camshaft rear bearing hole plug with sealer. Use sealer GM P/N 1052080 or equivalent.
2. Install the camshaft rear bearing hole plug.
3. Ensure that the camshaft rear bearing plug is installed to specifications.
4. Install the engine flywheel. Refer to Engine Replacement.
