Thermostatic Air Cleaner Vacuum Switch: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove air cleaner cover, then place a thermocouple type thermometer over sensor and replace cover.
2. Allow engine to cool, then start engine.
3. Look through air intake and make sure that hot air switching valve starts to move in toward fresh air intake side when engine is started.
4. Take temperature reading when valve starts to open, and repeat several times to obtain a mean average reading. If temperature reading is not

within 100-111° F replace thermo sensor assembly.
