Installation Procedure

1. Install the J 38122-A to the crankshaft balancer in order to keep the flexplate from rotating when tightening the flexplate bolts.

2. Install the flexplate.
3. Have an assistant hold the J 38122-A with a breaker bar.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

4. Install the NEW flexplate bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 53 N.m (39 lb ft) plus an additional 25 degrees using J 45059.

5. Install the automatic transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement.
