1. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side   (See: Catalytic Converter/Service and Repair/Catalytic

Converter Replacement - Right Side).

2. Remove the exhaust manifold lower heat shield bolts (1, 2).
3. Remove the exhaust manifold lower heat shield.

Installation Procedure

1. Position the exhaust manifold lower heat shield to the engine.

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Caution   (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).

2. Install the exhaust manifold lower heat shield bolts (1, 2).

Tighten the bolt (1) to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

Tighten the bolt (2) to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
