Manifold Pressure/Vacuum Sensor: Service and Repair

Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement   (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Tune-up and

Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Air Cleaner Fresh Air Duct/Hose/Service and Repair/Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement).

2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge tube from the intake manifold. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service  

(See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Line Coupler/Service and Repair/Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting
Service).

3. Reposition the EVAP canister purge tube (1) out of the way.

4. Disconnect the fuel injector wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor.
