Front door hinges on Impalas, Caprices, Malibu and Monte Carlo with the check link roller may be repaired with P/N 20497383 (Figure 2)
using the following procedure:

FIGURE 1 - HOLE LOCATION ON FRONT DOOR HINGE

1.

Using a #29 (.1360) drill bit, drill a hole 10 mm (3/8") from the roller end of the hinge stop pin (Figure 1).

2.

Thread drilled hole using a #8-32 tap.
