6. Clean the thread adhesive from the flywheel bolt holes. Use a nylon bristle brush to clean the holes in the crankshaft

Important: Do not damage the outside diameter of the crankshaft or chamber with any tool.

7. Pry the crankshaft rear oil seal with a flat-bladed tool.

Installation Procedure

1. Lubricate the outside diameter of the NEW crankshaft seal with clean engine oil.
2. Using the J 42067, press the NEW crankshaft seal into the housing. The J 42067 will establish the depth of the seal.

3. Install the J 38122-A to the crankshaft balancer in order to keep the flexplate from rotating when tightening the flexplate bolts.
