Canister Purge Solenoid: Service and Repair
EVAP Canister Vent Solenoid Replacement
Removal Procedure
Notice: The EVAP canister may have released carbon particles which caused this part to fail and may cause damage to other components. Check the
EVAP canister for loose carbon before returning the vehicle to service.
1. Remove the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
2. Disconnect the EVAP canister vent solenoid electrical connector(4).
3. Disconnect the two vacuum hoses (1) from the EVAP canister vent solenoid (3).
4. Remove the one bolt (2) and the EVAP canister vent solenoid from the bulkhead.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the EVAP canister vent solenoid to the bulkhead and secure with the one bolt (2).
2. Connect the two vacuum hoses (1) to the EVAP canister vent solenoid (3).
3. Connect the EVAP canister vent solenoid electrical connector (4).
4. Install the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
