Metro L3-061 1.0L VIN 6 TBI (1998)
NOTE: Apply Power Steering Fluid GM P/N 12346143, or equivalent to the new O-ring and U-packing for ease of installation.
2. Box to power steering gear using Power Steering Rack Tube Nut Wrench.

Tighten the box to power steering gear to 44 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
3. Lock washer and tie rod to steering gear.

Tighten tie rod to steering gear ball nut to 69 Nm (51 ft. lbs.).
4. Stake lock washer.
5. Steering gear boot to tie rod/rack junction.
a. Apply power steering fluid GM P/N 12346143, or equivalent, to the inside of the outer end of the boot.
b. Position boot onto groove of steering gear housing and secure with new wire (wrap wire around boot twice and twist ends together, the
twisted ends should be aligned in the same direction as the wrapped wire so as not to damage the boot).
c. Secure the outer end of the boot with clamp.
d. Make sure that the boot is free from twists and properly fastened.
6. Remove power steering gear from the soft jaw vise.
7. Power steering gear to vehicle.
