Oil Pump Drive Shaft: Service and Repair
Oil Pump Drive Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the intake manifold cover.
2. Remove the oil pump drive bolt.
3. Remove the oil pump drive.
4. Remove the oil pump drive seal.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the oil pump drive seal. Coat the seal or bore in the engine block with clean engine oil.
2. Apply prelube GM P/N 12345501 (Canadian P/N 992704) or equivalent to the oil pump drive gear.
3. Install the oil pump drive.
