7. Remove the following components from the caliper:

The pad wear indicator (1 )

Two inner pad insulators (8,9)
^
Two outer pad insulators (4,5)
^
The inner brake pad (7)
^
The outer brake pad (3)
^
Two brake pad retainers (2,6)
8. Inspect the brake pads for wear. If the pad thickness is less than specification, replace the pad The minimum lining material (pad) thickness is 1
mm (0.039 in).
9. Inspect the two brake pad retainers for the following conditions:
^
Sufficient rebound
^
No deformation
^
No cracks
^
No wear
^
No rust
^
No dirt
If the two brake pad retainers meet the above conditions, the two brake pad retainers can be used again.
