Brake Hose/Line: Service and Repair
Brake Hose Replacement - Front
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Siphon brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
4. Clean any dirt and foreign material from the hose and fittings.
5. Remove the front brake hose from the front brake pipe.
6. Remove the following from the front strut:

The front brake hose retaining bracket
^
The front brake hose retaining bracket bolt
^
The front brake hose.
7. Remove the brake hose bolt and the brake hose from the brake caliper.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the brake hose to the brake caliper. Secure with the brake hose bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 8 Nm (17 in. lbs.).
2. Install the following to the front strut:

The front brake hose.
^
The front brake hose retaining bracket
^
The front brake hose retaining bracket bolt
^
Tighten the bolt to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the front brake hose to the front brake pipe.
4. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
5. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
6. Lower the vehicle.
