Evaporator Tube
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Discharge and recover the refrigerant.
3. Remove the cruise control actuator motor, if equipped.
Important: Cap the open fittings to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the refrigeration system.
4. Disconnect the union (4) of the evaporator liquid hose (5) and the evaporator liquid tube (3).
5. Disconnect the evaporator liquid tube (3) at the evaporator (2).
6. Remove the evaporator liquid tube (3).
Installation Procedure
Important: Use new O-rings lubricated with 525 viscosity mineral oil.
1. Install the evaporator liquid tube (3) at the evaporator (2).
Tighten
Tighten the evaporator liquid tube to 25 N.m (19 lb ft).
2. Install the evaporator liquid hose (5) to the evaporator liquid tube (3).
Tighten
Tighten the evaporator liquid hose to the evaporator liquid tube union (4) to 25 N.m (19 lb ft).
3. Install the cruise control actuator motor, if removed.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
5. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system.
6. Operate the A/C system and check for leaks.
