Power Steering Line/Hose: Service and Repair
Power Steering Pressure Hose Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Siphon power steering fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir.
2. Disconnect the power steering pressure switch electrical connector,

3. Remove the power steering pressure switch (1) from the power steering inlet hose/pipe.
4. Remove the power steering pressure hose fitting and the inlet hose pipe from the power steering pump (2)
5. Remove the 3 power steering gear outlet pipe heat shield bolts and the heat shield.
6. Remove the power steering pipe inlet and outlet pipe clip bolt from the clip.
7. Loosen the power steering outlet hose clamp connecting the outlet hose to the intermediate outlet pipe. 
8. Remove the power steering intermediate outlet pipe from the hose.
9. Disconnect-the power steering inlet pipe from the power steering gear.

10. Remove the power steering intermediate outlet pipe, retaining clip bolt from the clip (14).
11. Remove the power steering inlet hose/pipe with clips and intermediate outlet pipe assembly from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the power steering inlet hose/pipe with clips and intermediate outlet pipe assembly to the vehicle.
2. Secure the power steering intermediate outlet pipe retaining clip (14) with the clip bolt. Do not tighten.
3. Connect the power steering inlet pipe to the power steering gear.
4. Install the power steering intermediate outlet pipe to the outlet hose. Secure with the hose clamp.
5. Secure the power steering inlet and outlet pipe clip with the bolt. Do not tighten.
6. Install the power steering gear outlet pipe heat shield. Secure with 3 bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 5.4 Nm (48 inch lbs.).

7. Install the power steering inlet hose/pipe to the power steering pump (2). Secure with the power steering hose fitting.
8. Install-the power steering pressure switch (1) to the power steering inlet hose/pipe
9. Connect the power steering pressure switch electrical connector.

10. Tighten the 2 pipe clip bolts
