10. Connect a hand held vacuum/pressure pump to the fuel tank pressure sensor.

11. Using a DMM on the DC scale, place one lead on the fuel tank pressure sensor input circuit and the other lead on the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor

ground circuit at the PCM. Measure the output voltage under the following conditions.
^

Apply vacuum to the fuel tank pressure sensor, 2.0 kPa (15 mm Hg, 0.59 in. Hg).

Measure
1.3 - 2.1 volts

^

Release the vacuum from the fuel tank pressure sensor.

Measure
3.0-3.6 volts

^

Apply pressure to the fuel tank pressure sensor 1.5 kPa (0.22 psi)

Measure
4.2 - 4.8 volts

12. If the fuel tank pressure sensor failed any of the above tests, replace the fuel tank pressure sensor.
13. Remove the hand held vacuum pump.
14. Connect the fuel tank pressure sensor vacuum hose.
