When the ignition switch is turned to ON, and the brake pedal is depressed, the solenoid is energized.

Remove the negative (-) battery cable.
4. Install the shift lock solenoid and the shift lock switch assembly electrical connectors (2,3) to the shift lock switch assembly.
5. Reposition the shift indicator to its original position.
6. Install the 4 screws to the shift indicator.
7. Install the shift indicator bulb (1) into the shift indicator (2).
8. Install the center console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
9. Install the negative (-) battery cable.
